Renephra

Renephra was a spin out company from the University of Manchester and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.  The company developed an innovative medical device to treat patients of chronic oedema and fluid overload. Heart failure patients with chronic oedema and fluid overload can be very challenging to treat and Renephra's technology had the potential to be much more convenient and enabling for patients as well as offer very significant savings for healthcare providers by enabling treatment in the community and home setting. Its solution was to remove excess fluid through the skin using disposable microneedle patches.
