Virustatic

Virustatic was a start-up company developing a ‘germ trap’ technology to apply to materials to prevent the spread of viruses, bacteria and fungus. The first application is a face mask/snood.

How did we help?

The business, which was given two small convertible loans from GM&C to help prove its technology, thrived due to the Covid pandemic, generating instant global demand for its snood product. The company also relocated to Alderley Park.

Result

With little need to raise equity funding (triggering a loan conversion), Virustatic paid back its loans to GM&C, along with all interest. GM&C is now fully divested.
